... My study of Karate has permitted
me to survive the reversals of life, to be successful, and to
make a positive contribution to young people. All of us at Kan-Zen-Kai
believe strongly in the power of Karate to transform and focus
a person's life.
It has been my vision to build a strong federation in North
America. It would be more in the French mode, including all
legitimate styles. Instructors would be qualified and answerable
to the federation. We now have the World Karate Federation with
members from all over the world of which Kan-Zen-Kai Karate
and Fitness Canter is also a member.
It is the mandate of the World Union of Kan-Zen-Kai Karate
to organize and legitimize instructors and business owners,
so that all Karate Schools meet professional standards, and
so that people of all ages can be taught in safe environments
by certified instructors.
Many martial arts schools have become too commercialized
and they are feeding on public unawareness, especially those
parents who select a school closest to their home without
knowing the qualifications of the instructors. We are concerned
about "certificate selling" from some organizations
that come to North America. We hope that our federation will
help to prevent people from opening up unqualified dojos that
could greatly effect the public's safety.
