Qualifications and Accomplishments

Trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 7 years.
Multiple time final medalist in Brazil and Canada.

I began to study the famous art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo with Professor Flavio Behring, Sylvio's father in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

When I moved to Toronto in 2002, I began to study under the direction of the famous Professor Sylvio Behring and Professor Shah Franco.

Professor Sylvio Behring is one of the most respected and famous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors in the world. His knowledge of the art of Jiu Jitsu and self defense is unbelievable. He has even created his own system ( Progressive system ) and incorporated it into the art of Jiu Jitsu, passing it along to all of his students.

Professor Shah Franco is also a very famous and well know individual in the Martial Art world. Not only famous for producing World Champions at Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he himself is a Multi time champion in Full Contact fighting.

Under the direction of both Professor Behring and Professor Franco I have obtained knowledge of Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense to pass on to the general public at a very competent level.

In conclusion, I have dedicated my life to the Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My goal is to not only continue competing on a international level, but to build and extended family through Jiu Jitsu while passing on the techniques and discipline I have learned through the years.

History of Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling martial art that originated over
60 years ago.

Through trial and error the Brazilians have developed
a very simple yet very intricate theory & strategy for approaching self-defense, sportive grappling and mixed martial arts competition.

This strategy employs a variety of techniques including throws & takedowns, pins/control positions, and submission holds such as chokes and joint locks.

Practicing these techniques through the use
of specialized training methods allow a smaller person to develop the skills & attributes to systematically control and defeat a larger opponent.
